Bays "Egg-stra Special Benedicts" Spring 2010 Online Recipe Contest
Historians give credit to two versions of the origin of Eggs Benedict in New York, at Delmonico's in 1860 at the request of a regular patron of the restaurant, Mrs. LeGrand Benedict, and at the Waldorf Hotel in 1894 at the request of Mr. Lemuel Benedict, a Wall Street broker. While we may never know the exact origins, what is certain is that the brunch specialty of two toasted English muffin halves, each topped with a slice or ham or Canadian bacon, a poached egg, and some Hollandaise sauce, still reigns supreme!
We're looking for your "Egg-stra Special Benedicts," - variations on the classic recipe - featuring Bays English Muffins for a company-worthy brunch or lunch dish. The best entry will receive a $500 cash prize and a case of Bays Original English Muffins. All entries will be judged by George Bay along with a panel of independent judges.
Bays "Egg-stra Special Benedicts" submission dates are March 9-30, 2010. The winner of the Bays "Egg-stra Special Benedicts" recipe contest will be announced on this site on April 21, 2010.
